What helps?

Delicious, nourishing, comforting food, cooked by dear friends. Raising a glass of the wine my husband loved, among generous friends who loved him, too.

Tonight, I go to sleep in warmth and with some small measure of peace.
Thank you, with all my heart, Mme. X and M. Y.

Glad to read this. Glad of the food, the wine, the friends, the love, the measure of peace.

i would simply come when you are looking the other way, and place a poem on your table, or in a pocket of a blouse you might wear, or under a magnet on a kitchen cabinet ...

Although the wind
blows terribly here,
the moonlight also leaks
between the roof planks
of this ruined house.

Izumi Shikibu
(translated by Jane Hirshfield
and Mariko Aratani)

Considered the greatest woman poet of Japanese literature, Izumi Shikibu was part of the only Golden Age in world literature that was created by women writers. She served as a companion to an empress of the imperial court at Heian-kyo (present-day Kyoto), married young, and gave birth to a daughter ...

To read her poems, it is helpful to know that in Buddhist cultures the moon is often a symbol of awakened mind.
