I was driving around with the twins a few months back in a desperate attempt to get them to take a nap. I impulsively pulled into a McD's and got a quarter pounder and a chocolate shake. I don't know what happened to me!
And I wasn't even listening to NPR.
Hope it was satisfying. There's something oddly comforting about fast food to me, maybe the way it's no challenge to the taste buds.

i'll join you in purgatory with my chili cheese dog from der weinerschnitzel!
You're entitled. At least you had on NPR.

Anon, I hadn't realized der weinerschnitzel was even still around! thanks for sharing.
YT, does the NPR make it better, or worse, really? Wouldn't AM country radio have been more "honest"?
Snick, I have to say that a chocolate shake sounds pretty good right about now...I have a wicked sore throat, and an urge to drive "thru."
Next up: my foray here.
(it's a steep and slippery slope, dontcha know).
We all need a McD's every once in a while, and I like the juxtaposition with NPR really.
As for your walmart foray, good luck, I loathe that place.
ooohh--i was only kidding about the (other) "W"; i still have some ethics left!
hahaha. You're right. NPR was totally out of synch with the moment.
