Being new to the game, I find even a summer not teaching wiped my memory of the very poor lab reports of my organic chem students. Wow, it's astonishing how they cannot form a coherent argument!
Hope you're getting into the swing of things at the college and with your daughter's routine. I read your posts on your daughter's school with keen interest. I think you have entered into this world with eyes wide open, and that is to be commended.
